Great Story, confusing character switches

The story itself was thrilling and kept me wanting to read as often as I could. It bothered me that the context too seamlessly would change from one set of characters to another, causing confusion and the need to re-read so I could understand. You’d finish a paragraph with one character and suddenly the next paragraph started with dialect of another character in a completely different location in the story. Other than that....great read!

Harlan Coban is a favorite of mine and this book does not disappoint. Fast moving, a lot of twists and turns, an everyday kind of guy just doing what he has to do to survive a tragedy and get some answers, and then an ending I never saw coming. Great read and I highly recommend.

Love this book.

I borrowed the actual book from my grandma and loved it. I'm fifteen and read it at fourteen. It's a great book with a great plot and written amazingly. I would highly recommend it.

Suspenseful!

I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters came to life with ease and the book flowed. I loved the unexpected ending. Only one negative, why so many typos? This bugged the hell out if me. This is my first iBook, maybe typos are acceptable now.

Great story!

What a story! There were so many twists and turns that I did not see the ending that this tale had! Coven is a master story teller, and this book kept me on pins and needles right up till the shocker of an ending! I loved this story, thank you Mr. Coben!

One of the best books I've ever read. Even though there are an over-abundance of characters, as well as twists & turns, I was still able to keep up. Amazing storyline. Definitely going to read ALL of Harlan's books, but will be going to my local library for FREE. There are waaay too many editing probs in this book. I'm not criticizing the author but the editing was the WORST I've ever seen. The 1st paragraph in EVERY chapter has words that run together & it was difficult to read. This isn't a "font" problem or that the book downloaded incorrectly. The problem was the same on my iPhone & iPad, and there were numerous combined words throughout the book as well. Pretty aggravating for a $9.99 book, and haven't had this prob with any other books downloaded into iBooks (I read 3 per wk) This book is a MUST READ but don't pay through iBooks. Not sure I'd trust the editing.

Another fast paced book! Crazy twists and a wild ride. I do have to agree with other ratings that the editing was terrible in this book. There were several mistakes that were distracting. Great book, but terrible editing. I hope this gets fixed for future readers. Enjoy!

No Second Chance has no Equal!

Just completed "No Second Chance", and was kidnapped and ensnared in it's pages from the first shot to the very end! I'm a Coben fan, and have been for some time, primarily reading the exploits of sports agent Myron Bolitar and his quirky but lethal sidekick, Win. This is one of the first of Coben's standalone novels I've read, and I can say for certain, it will not be my last! Great writing that compels the reader to keep turning pages long after "lights out"! And to those who have mentioned certain editorial shortcomings in this book... I am reminded of movie critics who have forgotten how to enjoy a movie. The story line and action in this book far surpass any nitpicking editorial issues. Hey folks, life's messy sometimes. Only in tv & the movies does every little detail get wrapped up by the end. In real life, sometimes we're left with questions that haunt us for the rest of our lives. Why shouldn't a great novel do the same? Coben is at the top in his game, but he has not let that slow him down or make him lazy. He's still pushing the envelope and raising the bar for everyone else. Now, let's see... What's next... Keith Lowry Non-critic

Tuckerpooter is right. The editing in this book is not the greatest. But I love all Harlan's books. The suspense. How all characters intertwine together at the end of the stories. This and his other books are a must read if you love mysteries, suspense and catches! I would recommend Harlan Coben to anyone.

With such abysmal editing, it's a bit of a challenge to keep focus on the story. Note to author: great story, but you may want to fire your editor(s). Note to publisher/editor: you may want to either take pride in your work or seek another profession.
